I don't need to reduce it, this contributed to me not doing it.
Although it's ok when not using X.

Wouldn't try it for GCC, while I'm not sure how much of GHC would work
on mipsel while it cannot be cross compiled (it needs to run target code
in the compiler to build some packages, I don't know if all such
features are disabled on mipsel due to missing linker support).

Colours look worse (it's maybe since I normally use DVI for all my
external displays).  I think it was ok with a projector.
