Try this:

$ grep DRICreatePCIBusID /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions/libdri*

If it doesn't match, you have to resolve the incompatibility somehow.
It's probably less work to install an older kernel with a compatible
nouveau module than it is to install a newer version of libdri into
/usr/local.

I looked again and could not see anything you left out.  Resolve the
incompatibility above and try again.
