Welcome to the community. gNewSense is about free software, not open
source. The two are very different and there's a good read at [1] to
help understand the different approach, philosophy, and values between
the two.

It's helpful to report error messages that you may see as well as any
other sights, sounds, or smells. As such, it would be helpful if you
could send your xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log to
http://gnewsense.pastebin.com so that it can be reviewed by others in
the community.
