'clear' guide? can't comment. relevant documentation is debian
developers reference, new maintainer guide (warning: disgustingly out
of date), and debian policy.

if you are interested in maintaing a new package long term, i suggest
getting it into debian, and then simply rebuilding for gNS. if you do
that, all debians mentoring infrastructure becomes available to you. If
you decide to keep it in house (which, tbh, i disaprove of) then you'll
have to try the dev list. Much less likely to get the required help
there though.

We don't control that variable - your upstream does.

I'd expect any package proposed for gNS to be lintian clean, and a
non-native package (as a bare minimum). I'd hope it complies with
debian policy, but probably wouldn't have time to check that myself. On
the security front, I'd need to be able to reach your gpg key in the
web of trust with either of my keys.

Or people could just _do_some_bloody_work_, and have a dev upload it
into the build network when its ready.
