yes I did , my sequence of commands typed in the terminal for the update
was :
-------------------
sudo apt-get update 
sudo apt-get upgrade 
------------------------

Just now I tried installing random package called : 'gnome-themes-extras
' and get the same warning telling me that the package would not be
authenticated . Are my authentication keys corrupted ?? .
