Here are the stats for the KFV.

First of all, I wish to thank all of you working on the linux-ubuntu-modules Freedom Verification!

Freedom state for the linux-ubuntu-modules is as follow:

- the 'debian' section has been checked to 28.12%, in which all is free! Thank you Sam! - the 'ubuntu' section has been checked to 15.67%, in which all is free. Thanks to Eric, Bake, Ivan, Kusut (Tino?) and Firefly1 (Heath?)!
- the 'ubuntu-firmware' section, that I checked, is 100% non-free ;(.

Freedom state of the kernel is as follow:

- the section 'arch' hasn't been checked, but we have to focus on other sections before this one. - the 'fs' section has been completed to 41.31%, in which all is free! Thanks to Markus! We need to continue the work on this section. - great news, 'lib' section has almost been completed this week, with 99.09% done, all is free. Thank you Marco! - individual files: 'COPYING', 'CREDITS', 'Kbuild', 'MAINTAINERS', 'Makefile', 'README' and 'REPORTING-BUGS' haven't been checked at this time.

There is still work to be done but, we've already done a half (if we exclude 'arch' section').

Moreover, as sound remains the main issue of gNS 2.0, I encourage all volunters to check linux-ubuntu-modules (see http://wiki.gnewsense.org/Kernel/Ubuntu-hardy-linux-ubuntu-modules-2-6-24-16-23), to have a release of gNewSense with sound working on all free hardware!
