Unfortunately I've not seen any other way currently on installing gNewSense.

Perhaps it is possible to run the cd while booted in to another distro that is 
installed, and let it just slowly install itself? I'm not sure if this is even 
possible, and it'd probably be messy.

What would be very nice, would be a server oriented gNewSense, or at least one 
without a gui, or just the minimal graphics deps.
