Hi Dave,

The next easy way to do it is something like this.

<example>
put a start icon here in this dir:
/usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/places/

then
sudo ln -s /usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/places/start-here.svg
/usr/share/icons/gnome/scalable/places/distributor-logo.svg

</example>
you may need to do "ln -sf"

$ cd /usr/share/icons/Tango/scalable/places/
$ sudo mv distributor-logo.svg distributor-logo.svg.ubuntu
$ sudo cp ~/distributor-logo.svg.gnewsense distributor-logo.svg

Then pick "Industrial Tango" theme.
