Try using the controls on your monitor to bring the screen back in view.
It is strange, however, that you say your x is fully in view but your vt
is not. This sometimes happens to me after installing a new distro and I
simply use the controls on my monitor to center the display. But I do
this only after noticing it from gnome. Are you sure that your desktop
does not go off screen slightly?

When running X, all fonts and programs look fine. It is just while

The font size for the console looks fine (not big).

problem.
I searched the archives and google but either didn't find anything or
missed it.
I also looked under grub to see if it had a font listed in the menu.lst,
but didn't see anything.
I just installed the system and did a update/upgrade.
I have a Radeon 7000 series graphic card.
