Hi all,

I had an idea for running a small GNU publicity campaign in parallel to MS's
Vista launches. Their business launch is planned for Nov 30th, and their
general public launch is planned for Jan 30th, AFAICT.

When journalists write about partisan topics, they often like to give an
opposing view in the last paragraph or two. So lets give them an opposing
view that they can draw from. And we'll also, hopefully, get the idea out
to the public that there are alternatives, and there are issues of freedom
which Vista create.

When telling MS users that there is an option, it would be better if we
could actually point to something. gNewSense is the obvious choice because
recommending any other distro would send the message that binary blobs and
proprietary software make for a "better" distro.

I'm going to be travelling constantly between now and Nov 30th, so I can't
work on anything bigger than a press release. If others want to do more,
then run with it.

For Jan 30th, it would be good to organise something bigger.

Just an idea.
