First, I installed the package grub-yeeloong.I'm there right now in the installation it asks me to fill in 2 fields. One field is called "Linux command line:" and it's empty.
This is probably the same as GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX in /etc/default/grub. The comment just above that suggests that it's not relevant anymore.
The other field is called "Linux default command line:" and it has the text "quiet" in it.
Likely corresponds to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT. It's advisable to put "quiet machtype=8.9" in here until we have kernels that don't need the machtype parameter anymore.
I don't know what to do. For the moment I clicked on cancel. I will reinstall the package when I feel confident of what to enter in those fields. What did you type in those 2 fields?
