I am forwarding this request and my response to the mailing list on
the off-chance that someone else will be able to help. I've removed
personal information to avoid compounding the problem; if someone has
a different (helpful) response than the one I gave I will pass it on
so that the sender can follow the suggestion.

Ann,
Hi, I have created a problem for myself through a correspondence I sent you
all (Gnash Dev Team) a few months ago. I wrote about volunteering to help.
[link removed].
I have just noticed that I put my youTube address at the end of my email, and
that the email I sent you is "google-able".
I would very much appreciate it if you could remove the final line of text
from each copy of my email (the youTube address) that you have on your site
[link removed].
If removing the last lines can't be done, I hope you can remove all of the
copies of the emails entirely.
YouTube is set up to protect personal information, but by including both my
full name and my youTube address with my email to you, given that that email
is web-searchable, now one doesn't even have to follow the google link to
find my full name.
Because my name is apparently unique in the world (amazing), at least with
respect to google, connecting my youTube address with my home address, phone
etc., etc., is now just too easy.
Everything needed to eventually get all my personal info comes up on the
first page of a search for my youTube address.
Please do let me know of the disposition of this. I really like my youTube
address, and I would prefer not to change it.
Thank you very very much for your attention,
Hi,
Unfortunately I do not think that I can help you.
Gnash dev is a public mailing list, and mail-archive is a public mailing
list archiver. Gnash Dev is just one of the mailing lists it archives,
and the Gnash team has no direct access to the content. For future
reference, it appears that the header 'X-No-Archive: Yes' can be used to
prevent archiving by most servers, including mail-archive (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-No-Archive).
Looking at the mail-archive FAQ, I see that it is not possible to delete
a message from the archive (http://www.mail-archive.com/faq.html#delete).
The FAQ does not have an entry on editing content, although it probably
falls in the same category. Because the FAQ doesn't explicitly state anything
about editing, you could always try to contact mail-archive with
your request.
Finally, I will post a version of your letter with all identifying
information removed (so that it won't be archived again) to the Dev list just
in case someone else knows something beyond what is listed
in the mail-archive FAQ and is able to help.
Regards,
Ann
