The reason for implementing this now is that Firefox 4 finally has been
improved to propagate visibility events to plugin windows. That means
plugin elements that are obscured, such as those in invisible tabs or
scrolled-off areas, will be properly notified.
This can make a huge dent in CPU usage. Firefox 3 users, however, will
notice no difference.
