Christoph Schlegel:
Alice,

the academic, the perfect technical, the purist view and so on always
let us feel unsure because of all the good arguments against keeping to
do, what we are doing. Meanwhile very often I said to myself at a
certain point: I'll stop the discussion to invest the time for my
project. As long as I have fun and know why I am doing... Some but not
all are coding for the perfect world.

There's a working compiler with great support, a language worth a go -

Keep up your interesting work.

Thank you. I have to admit that I tend towards the perfectionist position myself usually, but in this case I have been a bit frustrated as this project is itself a bit of a distraction from the project I meant to work on, and the fact that some of these problems relate to the compiler itself - which is in no way meant as a criticism of Gaius' impressive work on gm2 - has left me stymied.

Speaking of which, I've tried building gm2 to the bleeding edge to see if I can get it to compile with that, which Gaius Mulley seems to have managed. Unfortunately, the compiler build itself has thrown an internal error. I'll post the error message in a separate post.

I will continue working on this, certainly. But I am focused mainly on getting this to work on gm2 first and foremost - if for no other reason that I don't have access to any other Modula-2 compilers at this time.
