[Gm2] LONGCARD woes

Modula-10514 (ISO) does not define LONGCARD because CARDINAL is  
mandated as being the overlord.  (See the comment in the thread

This poses a problem for our beloved gcc-based gm2 on i32lp64  
architectures on 64-bit machines (such as UltraSparc).  I have  
neither solution nor suggestion -- I am simply raising the matter.
