[Gm2] gm2-2010-03-28 actually built on mac10.4/ppc

Out of curiosity, I tried building gm2-2010-03-29 on my G5 running  
10.4.11.
Much to my delight, it built, installed and I can debug  (simple  
stuff at least).

Make check-gm2 was not fun, though:

# of expected passes            6342
# of unexpected failures        1302
# of unresolved testcases       1284

(For what it is worth, I shall mail the full log to Gaius.)
