[Glug-nith-discuss] Glug-nith fedora mirror

Some guys reported problems updating their fedora release from glug-nith fedora mirror . The mirror is working fine . To update fedora from within the NITH network you need to set ftp proxy in yum.conf file. For that simply add a line given below to your /etc/yum.conf file :

proxy=http://proxy:port

ex for DBH it is
proxy=http://172.16.20.2:3128

Now it would be possible to download updates whenever redirected to ftp://fedora.glug-nith.org.

If anybody  wants to update from glug-nith mirror preferentially over other mirrors.Just edit the following two files

/etc/yum.repos.d/fedora.repo

change the line below 
baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/releases/$releasever/Everything/$basearch/os/

to 
baseurl=ftp://fedora.glug-nith.org/linux/releases/$releasever/Everything/$basearch/os/



and in /etc/yum.repos.d/fedora-updates.repo

change the line 
baseurl=http://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/updates/$releasever/$basearch/

to 
baseurl=ftp://fedora.glug-nith.org/linux/updates/$releasever/$basearch/


make sure to remove  # before baseurl
and place a # before mirrorlist
