Hello,
Now that the GNU mirror is created we can move onto the regular and more
used distribution mirrors. As of now the plan is to create Ubuntu and Fedora
"the latest stable release". In this thread we are discussing about the Fedora
mirror. As of now there is an old mirror of Fedora Core 6 at
http://fedora.glug-nith.org/

One option is to freshen up the mirror. The problem is as Debarshi earlier
pointed out that the Fedora Core 6 release may be frozen and no addition will be
made to it so that people will be shifting to the newer distros to avail the
cutting edge softwares and the mirror will be useless.

So we can go for the current stable release which is Fedora 7.
The problem here is Fedora 8 is scheduled for release on November 8.

I was talking to a fedora-admin who manages the Fedora mirrors, he suggested
to wait for November 4 by when the Fedora mirrors will be available for syncing.
He said it might be a huge wastage of bandwidth, effort and time to mirror
Fedora 7 and then Fedora 8. So should in the meanwhile wait for Fedora 8 to come
out and then create the mirror, and in the meanwhile we can create the Ubuntu
mirror or do we create the Fedora 7 mirror and later bother about the Fedora 8
mirror.

Please note we do not have enough space on the server for both Fedora 7 and
Fedora 8

Please give me your opinions.

Regards,
Vivek
