   And, in fact, the Onion is a comedy.  It's a joke.  It's not a
   "discussion of issues".

That doesn't make it appropriate to discuss on system-hackers.
Perhaps the chuckles list would be appropriate, then.

   If you want to bury your head in the sand, you can't insist that the
   rest of us carry buckets of sand around so we can join you at your
   demand.

I don't object to people carrying on conversations as long as they do
so in appropriate forums.  But system-hackers is not an appropriate
place to discuss US politics that aren't intimately related to
maintaining GNU systems.
