Dear geiser users and developers,

I am curious to try out scheme, but not comfortable with emacs (yet?). I found 
geiser to provide very good functionality for debugging and incremental 
development. So: Is the network protocol used by geiser documented somewhere? 
If I wanted to write a new client (as alternative to the elisp client), where 
would I start?
