I cannot reproduce this problem, neither with my local tree nor with a
fresh clone of the repo: do you have any local changes in your tree?

Can you please try with a fresh clone? I could also be a problem with
texinfo: what's the output of makeinfo --version in your system?

Can anyone else reproduce this problem?
