I'm looking into using gdb's PowerPC simulator
capability for ASIC simulation and I have questions regarding the feasibility of
such an endeavor. How difficult is it to extend gdb to enable simulation
of custom logic and peripherals? Does it provide hooks so one can specify that a
write to a particular address triggers some simulated behavior in a
peripheral?
