[gcmd-dev] gnome-commander on Ubuntu Mate 18.04

Hello,

Today I build g-c on Ubuntu (had to do with wine 3.0.1 on CentOS 7.5 - 
don't ask). Anyhow... The instructions here 
https://www.linuxhelp.com/how-to-install-gnome-commander-1-8-1-on-ubuntu-17-04/ 
are quite excellent. The program compiled and installed per these 
instructions. It seems to run OK but does present a few error messages 
when launched from the command line. I present them below for reference. 
Perhaps something to look at during future upgrades.

I did observer that the launcher for the program appeared under 
Accessories on the "MATE Menu" but not on the "Main Menu" nor on the old 
style Menu Bar (Applications; Places; System). Why Mate needs 3 
different menus... who knows.
