The alt / ctrl-alt thing isn't that perfect, too.
Alt key doesn't work for gcmd on some german USB keyboards.
Ctrl+Alt works, however the numbers aren't available, and still some keys
activate other shortcut actions (like window manager), and it's anyway a
nuicance to have only one hand left to type.
How do others solve it ?
Most apps, like firefox, require to type Ctrl-f to start search mode.
You type in a small text field then, with immediate highlighting.
Krusader search mode is always on if the focus is on a filelist pane.
It's opening a small input field too. With arrow up/down you can jump to the
previous/next entry, Esc is closing the search mode and the textfield.
I like this approach, it's very straight.
Maybe it would work without textfield, too, or maybe we can reuse the shell
commandline ?
