no, you just can't do a bug report like that. We need the windows NT or samba 
server 
version, the samba client version, to lookup bug reports / issues, plus the 
environment, 
eg, native win or samba server, and which security protocol is used ? Password 
required ?
Can you post a servers smb.conf ?
Can you run from a shell:
smbclient -d3 -N -L host 
smbclient -d3 -N -L //host/sharename 
(tell them to use the 'script' commnand)

I downloaded 1.2.0 from debian unstable, and started from shell with d -s.
Only action is clicking on samba connections. It cannot even find any network,
asking me "is the module loaded ?" - well, look, gcmd should answeer that 
question,
not me. This widget is replacing a previous one after nhalf a second, so i 
can't read it.
I don't even see any hit on my firewall log, so i'm pretty sure gcmd does not 
even send#
out a call...maybe it's using the wrong command. It's 2006 with samba 3.xy now, 
you see.
At least there was no crash.

smbclient works flawless for me, also full samba access via KDE. But i 
configured 
only basic accessfor anonymous as well as extendet rights for ID samba:samba, 
no further security.
