Shift-click on a dir, then shift-ricghtclick on another
will mark the whole list inbetween,
where shift-leftclick marks single ones.
That breaks what people are used to, remember that
people are allways using other apps more than any
other single app.
If it required shift-click first, i would constatly
"cd" into the folder by mistake insted of marking it
as the first folder.

Why do you think this is a problem for drag&drop ?
OK i was not thinking about mouse-up/down.
Anyway, lokk how nautilus does it, there seems to be a way
it can work.
Well i do not know what N does, i do not use it,
but it probably is something about mouse-up/down.
