I am glad to hear that building Axiom (on Linux at least) with
gcl 2.7.0 is so close! :)

Tim has recently moved the Axiom source to Version_2_6_7pre which
builds Axiom on both Linux and windows. Are you still planning
to release an "official" gcl 2.6.7 ? If so, are there any more
features in the Version_2_7_0 series that can be easily, usefully
and portably back-ported to 2.6.7?
