One thing I would like to suggest is that we TRY to make the C code as ANSI 
C compliant as possible so as to make it easier to port to other platforms.

Another suggestion I have is to work only on one section of the GCL code at 
a time like the GMP stuff and then work into the other code.  That way 
we'll get a better understanding of the overall picture how everything is 
put together.

I would also recomend that we work to make sure that each section of the 
GCL code that has test procedures work (like the tests in GMP) so that 
those porting the code to other platforms can test each section as they go.
