Welcome to the list and Manchester Free Software. As Simon said there is
lots going on in Manchester. If you into Open Source then you might be
interested in other software development methodogies like XP

front please attend Software Freedom Day 2011 in Manchester at Madlab on
Saturday, 17th September and we'll have a chat about the Free Software
philosophy.
