Dear all,

Following recent upheavals and craziness (on the MFS team list), the new "parent" organisation for Okay Computer is now officially announced to be FSFE Manchester Fellowship. We have had some highly productive discussions and there will be lots of support and help for okay computer during the next phase of its growth.

The only major necessary change will be a less exclusive focus on ubuntu, which is fine by me anyway, given canonicals recent antics with the software centre+propitiatory nastys. Though ubuntu will keep its place as a good os to start with, we will commit more time to examining other os's and the whole distro world in general.

While my feelings towards mike and his mad decision remain pretty hostile, I am more than happy to continue working with MFS. Okay Computer will remain collaborative, and I would welcome your continued input, time and energy, ideas etc etc. If support is forthcoming, MFS would be like U3 and Blug are now (fabulous, invaluable, named on the website and out in force on the day).

During the next okay event it will be made clearer to participants (and to me!!) to which group(S) the volunteers and collaborating folk belong, also, you will all receive offers to be on the okay list when its up and running. Anyone who helps out will be solidifying MFS's role in this wonderful event, any major absence of support would weaken it: in that sense, do-ocracy prevails. So, its up to all of you if MFS stays on the list of involved organisations, and its up to you if you want to gain new members and interest through the next event.

I really do hope that MFS stay involved: your help and time was totally integral to the first event, it would not have happened without you, and it wont be nearly as cherished to me without you there. Plus, I think its in your, and in the Manchester FS scene's, interests too : )

Best of wishes, keep in touch, Okay Computer mailing list deets to folow in the next few days...
