Popular, or merely common? ;-)

The main problem with a free software group distributing Ubuntu is
that not only does it include non-free software but that this isn't
even seen as a bug - AIUI, only applications have to be free software
in Ubuntu.  I know we're divided about manuals, but other programs?

Surely most people who would support Ubuntu can do debian too?
