Without wishing to imply any ideological or political leanings (I'm
certainly not an anarchist myself), I'd like to note that the
Manchester Anarchist Bookfair is taking place at the Jabez Clegg pub on
Saturday 7th June from 11am to 5pm.

There are going to be plenty of stalls and people there. My experience
of the sort of people who go to these fairs is that many of them will
be aware of the philosophy, and interested in the practice, of free
software, but won't know about Manchester Free Software, or know their
GNU from their Linux.

I think it'd be good if we could staff a stall there. We could basically
use a similar format to the Infopoint stuff that Simon has been working
on, give away Gnewsense CDs, and have a flyer with the next three
months' (or so) meetings, our website details etc. Just having a laptop
running free software would be a start. This would help us expand
awareness of our group, particularly to less technical people who
wouldn't find out about us via Geekup etc.

A stall costs 10 quid, and I'd be happy to cover that myself. I won't be
able to attend the stall though, since I'll be away in London (and
hence not at the Manchester NO2ID stall which will also be there).

More details: http://www.bookfair.org.uk/

There's also space for talks on the agenda; I don't know whether
anybody'd be up for doing a half-hour thing on free software and MFS?
