If the primary motivation of the new group is free software related,
then any irrelevances should really be off topic on this list too.

Again, see above.  How different is the focus really?

I’m just as concerned about free software for young people as I am for
free software with anyone else.  Should we also have a free software
list for the elderly?  Asian people?  Businesses?  We’re tackling the
same things here.

Then we should make Manchester Free Software and this list more
welcoming to younger people.

You sidestepped a little.  I’m _still_ talking about mailing list
separation when I say “branching off”.  I said I support other groups
forming, but still don’t see the necessity for another list.
