I disagree, I don't think this is ageist at all and I think that if
Tim and others believe there can be enough interest then it's a good
idea. The problems with working with minors I think can be mitigated
if it's organised by minors and based around local schools, etc.
Saying that, I think the group can only work if one of its main aims
is to encourage and help young people to become involved in existing
LUGs and free software groups. I think there is a problem at the
moment with a perception that minimal qualifications, like a degree or
at least many years experience, are required before you can become
involved and I think young people setting up a group targeting
schools/colleges will help with this.
