considering the iphone will cost you ~£900 for at least a year long
contract. I reckon the Neo1973 is worth it.
(Neo1973 is obviously sim-free)
Anyway, the advantages of a platform that doesn't need to have it's
security systems pwned before you can install stuff on it are numerous
in my opinion.

The Green Phone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenphone), the only
handset which *supports* running Qtopia, IMHO looks rubbish
(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/8/8b/Greenphone.jpg), and
the specs, are dismal compared to the Neo1973

I intend to have one at the beginning of next year, anyway
