        Hello Richard and all,

Very inpressave your site and the work you and your friend as done with
getting your server up and running with word press.

As you know the freedom that we have in this brave new world are the idears of
richard stallman and the free software community. These freedoms are under
more attack today then ever.

Have you seen the videos :

# Overview of GPLv3 changes by Richard Stallman
# Eben Moglen discussing the wording of the changes

At > http://gplv3.fsf.org/av

The second video is a bit dry but Richard Stallman video is very good to brake
the ice with why the these freedoms are under attack with DRM " Digical
Rights Management".
Thats why theres the need to upgrade the GPL license that guards these
freedoms.

From what I see at http://www.fsf.org/ the GPL3 as been released.

But unfortunely these freedoms are not being disscusted with the merit they
need on the manlug mailing list for some resaon.

Stallman,s example of " tevoiation " show how DRM would kill these freedoms.
By not allowing the user to change a program thats under DRM.

Say I build a MthTV > http://www.mythtv.org/ machine and sell it. Then you
come along to the person I soled it to and you can upgrade the MthTV machine
with more goodies but I have DRM this machine, some how. This then as
restricted the user from change the programs they own, free software.

The level at which these restriction are applied as I see it would need the
linux kernel. So If the linux kernel allowed DRM its would be against the
GPL3 freedoms.

So as may see I am trying the brake the ice my self with under standing DRM
and its attacks upon GPL freedoms.

The Venezuela goverment are now using Debian gnu/linux as there offical OS.
Because it enbraces the free spirt of the bolivarian revolution. All of their
institution are now moving to Debian gnu/linux.

        Regards

                        peter colton
