Dear Sirs/Madams,

we (our research group) are interested in creating a new OS for grid
computing application, based on the GNU/Linux kernel.

We would like to avoid copyright and IP issue with your company and we have
decided to remove form the kernel the modules, which are under at the moment
under discussion, and which you company is stating have been copied by third
parties from your product or products into the GNU/Linux kernel. We need to
know which are the modules and the section of the code involved, in order to
remove them and write new and more efficient code, and, above all, a code
which could be released under GPL or similar licenses.

We need to have the answer within 10 working days. We remember you that any
delay in answering would means we are loosing money, because we have to delay
the market release of our product, and someone has to pay for this delay. We
remember you that, being the project based in Europe, european laws on
compensation apply, including legal expenses being charged on the party found
guilty.

We have patiently waited for a certain time for you to publish the list of
modules involved, but unfortunately the new research year is starting and no
further delay is admissible.

We do not intend to license you product, which we think is not the right
product for our use , and which is, to some extent, obsolete. On the other
hand, we need to avoid any copyright or IP issue with your company or with
any other company, and are sending similar letters and e-mails to all the
companies which could be involved.

We are waiting for your answer.

Best Regards

Corrado Topi
