Anyone know of a good PCI based telephony card with support for Linux.
I am not sure whether there are any UK specific features support that limit the choice of such cards.
Free driver is a must though.

Best bet is to ask the GNU Bayonne guys, I would expect.

..and Asterix [www.asteriskpbx.com].

There was talk of GNU Bayonne being showcased at the LDC in E'burgh. Atleast that is what I heard last year. It did not happen :-(

They say they support Intel/Dialogic and Pika equipment, and both these
manufacturers appear to do PCI cards. Whether or not they require you to
have a BRI/PRI ISDN, or some other such higher-end equipment I do not
know.

What worries me is the mention of [anything]oE as BT certainly does PPPoA for (A)DSL. Some of the aailable cards mention support over ethernet WAN. Documentation specific to UK if there are any is out of the question.

With the current cost of the hardware I am very reluctant to ask outside the UK. I have already been bitten once with an NTSC All in One Wonder [TM] video card.

If you do find anything useful, I would be interested in the results,
it's something I'm planning on looking at myself.

Will do.

Best regards,

Ramanan
