What principals were you trying to convey? As it might help to use more
examples. For free software operating systems (or predominantly free
software at least) there is FreeBSD, and others. Not sure where
OpenSolaris sits, key parts are under CDDL so those parts at least are
also free software.

Always hard to derive or understand general principals from one example,
probably why code reuse has such a bad reputation.

 Simon, who has set up a Debian GNU/Hurd box but wouldn't use it as an
example yet.
