Hello all:

I live in Istanbul Turkey, a lecturer in Computer Science and do research
in music cognition. I use ONLY free software for education and research.

I have been using ONLY GNU/Linux since 1996.

I work in the Science-Technology column of the News Portal
http://haber.sol.org.tr
Recently I prepared an interview with Stallman there about Free Software
(http://haber.sol.org.tr/bilim-teknoloji/dijital-somurgelestirmeye-karsi-ozgur-yazilim-haberi-19103).

We want to do more to promote free software in Turkey through this news portal
which
has (about two weeks ago) 46K unique visitors weekly.

First of all FS is about freedom, not price.
Secondly OSS and FS are different. OSS does not have all the freedoms that FS
has.
Thirdly, yes FS was a movement against sharing of software but Windows did not
exist at that time (1980s).
