[Fsedu-developers] The Parrot Book

Hi folks,

I'm currently writing a book about Parrot for the Free Software Academy project
(subproject of FSEDU, for the ones that don't know that yet :-). The very first
draft is in CVS under module fsa, directory textbooks, file parrot.tm (TeXmacs).

The reason for putting it into the FSA module and not the FSEDU module is making
a division between the advocacy branch of FSEDU and the material supplying
branch. Besides, the textbook says Free Software Academy (that's a better brand
name than Free Software in Education :-).

The textbook currently only has the first part of the book: Basic Parrot with
most of the examples missing. I've started on the second part: Magic Parrot,
which covers the PMC's. Further down the road it's a little misty, but I think
I'll add some chapters about IMCC/PIR, Jako and adding new PMC's.

Greetings,

Peter

PS: Does anybody have a cool GPL'ed/FDL'ed picture of a Parrot that I can put on
the front cover?

PPS: Does anybody know how to create Parts in the Table of Contents in TeXmacs?
If I use plain old text it get's erased everytime I use the ToC update function.
