Hi Sharad,
I have worked on several supermicro motherboards before, and my
recollection is that none have supported memory sensors. A few (but not
all) support some processor or module-board sensors. It's possible
you're out of luck for those sensors on your motherboard.
I'm not sure where to download a firmware upgrade directly. I assume a
link can be found on www.supermicro.com.
As for this:
> # /usr/local/sbin/ipmi-sel
> ipmi-sel: unable to get SEL record
it certainly isn't normal. Is there a chance you could run with a newer
version of FreeIPMI? I've put in a lot more detailed error messages and
debugging functions in newer FreeIPMIs.
