I have a very basic question concerning PIL:
Although there is a PIL folder in my
/usr/local/zope/2-6-4/lib/python2.1/site-packages/, when uploading an
image into Jamming only a dummy thumbnail is shown. I´d expect a
miniature view of my uploaded image ...
Yes, that is what *should* happen...
Is that a problem of FLE or due to my pyhton/PIL installation?
There are two possibilities:
a) The FLE does not find PIL at all. To check whether this is the case,
start adding a new jam session: If you have only two options
("Mutate on previous" and "Explore possibilities") in "type of jam
session" field, FLE does not find PIL. If there are three options
("Diverge & Converge" in addition to two mentioned before) FLE
finds PIL.
b) FLE finds PIL, but PIL does not support the image format you
are using. If you have compiled PIL yourself, it might be
possible that in the compilation process JPEG or ZLIB libraries
were not found. In that case PIL will not support (at least)
JPEG and PNG formats.
