HiJust a quick note regarding editors for LaTex. A friend of mine works in physics in windows and needed a tex editor for windows so I wrote a relatively simple one. There are only two ways it makes life slightly simpler is that identifiers and such are all coloured as they would be in the commercial windows editor packages. The other way is slightly more useful in that if you have Miktek installed the package can link directly to that so that with a click of a button you can open your formated post script document.
It is shareware - but with no charge involved at all - and anyone interested in it can find it here: http://www.gh.wits.ac.za/public/PJFFreeware/index.html#TexEd (note this is a Wits link so for those at university in SA you can download it quite quickly most days)
Just my two pence while I try to work on my 2 mega pence for the chapter in chemistry.
Cheers Paul
