Hi Chris,
I don't have experience with that.
Did you attach a debugger to fim to verify which function does burn all
that cpu time ?
If you tell me how to replicate your rc.local / nohup setup I can try it
and come up with a suggestion.
p.s.: Does this happens with the svn version of fim ?
