We are aware that there seems to be a problem with VTF and Windows.
Apparently, the VTF reader plugin fails on Windows. Unfortunately, we
are unable to debug the problem, as we do not use Windows here, we
cannot debug it, and even worse, it would be necessary to compile VMD on
Windows first to be able to debug it, and that apparently only works
with a very specific setting.

Anyway, as the question has turned up once in a while during the last
months, I'll ask the VMD developer to help.
