There is also support for wanderlust, vm, rmail and mhe.

It would be simple enough to add a keybinding in mutt that ran a
command which used gnuclient/emacsclient to add a suitable entry. I'm
not sure how you can "deep link" into a mutt message though - perhaps
there's some mutt command line option I'm not aware of (I don't have
mutt installed so haven't looked).

Fwiw, from my experience and discussions with others I believe
wanderlust is the most complete disconnected-IMAP MUA available
(better than evolution, outlook, mutt+offlineimap). Most of its user
community is Japanese however, so it can be a little hard for a
non-Japanese-speaker to get started with it. I am extremely happy
with it now though.
