Actually the after-change-function mechanism could do this in a more general
manner.
The after-change-functions are not asynchronous--at least, not usually.
So I am not sure it is right to make them prevent quitting, in general.
Perhaps this should be done in the specific Lisp function taht is being run.
Which function is that?
