Yep, modifying beamer color themes is usually rather easy: often you
just give a few "basic" (as in "basis" of a linear space) colors and the
rest are just linear (or even convex) combinations of those.

Great!  My audience was also quite geeky; in fact, one colleague asked
me for the source of this theme, so that he could learn to make a Vim
Beamer theme;)...
