(setq org-log-into-drawer t)

or

(setq org-log-into-drawer "LOGBOOK")

  #+STARTUP: logdrawer

This is a FAQ, perhaps "LOGBOOK" is a better default value for
`org-log-into-drawer'.

What do you all think?
